Last week the 8a and the 8b went to the New York 9/11 exhibition at the Panometer Leipzig. We learned many interesting new things there.
At first, we watched a video in a separate room, in which a man told us some basic facts about 9/11 and why it happened. After we finished watching the video, we went outside to wait for our tour guide.
When she arrived, we looked at the smaller panometer, where she told us about the history. She told us when it was built and what it was actually used for. Some pictures helped us understand, as she explained what was shown there. After that we went back inside, where she guided us through the actual exhibition of the Panometer. In the Panometer were two golden towers – which were really high. While we walked through the exhibition, we saw many videos/interviews of politicians after the two planes had crashed into the Twin Towers. In these videos the politicians were asked questions about what had happened. Last but not least, we went into the middle of the Panometer, where we could see a big panorama of the World Trade Center before the attack.
All in all, I would say it was a good experience. I just think that the film we watched at the beginning was not very interesting because it was hard to understand.
